The EU has launched a legal challenge to the US’ Section 301 legislation at the World Trade Organisation

The Union argues that the rules - under which the US can introduce unilateral sanctions against trading partners - dictate timetables for action which clash with the multilateral nature of the WTO. A ruling from the world trade body is expected in the autumn.
