Scandinavian politics today

This textbook on the contemporary politics of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and the three Home Rule territories of Greenland, Faeroes and Åland, takes a thematic and comparative approach.

Chapters deal with current issues such as nation-building and state-building, changes in party systems, semi-presidentialism and post-corporatism, as well as whether there is a Nordic model of government, a distinctively Scandinavian form of parliamentarianism and a superior welfare system. There is also a detailed discussion of the Nordic states in their external context and of the impact of European integration on Scandinavia.
