Book abstract:

Whilst there are a number of different sources of EU funding, accessing these funds can appear daunting and complicated. This guide aims to make EU funding more accessible by guiding non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through the procedures for European funding. It provides a useful starting point for contact names and addresses and it explores the many different sources of funding available including European Commission funding, foundation and trust funding and structural fund financing.

Split into six parts, it covers: 'The Vade-Mecum on Grant Management'; foundation and trust funding, including profiles, funding success stories and contacts; a full analysis of the new EU Structural funds regime - 2000 to 2006; and an up-to-date line-by-line description of all EU budgets for NGOs including external funding. Each chapter provides vital contact information, which has been fully revised to take into account the reorganisation of the European Commission.

ECAS, Euro Citizen Action Service, is an independent non-profit making advice service for NGOs on European funding and lobbying. This annual funding guide is an important focus of the work of ECAS along with its comprehensive help service.
