The Committee of the Regions has embarked on a new strategy of aggressive marketing in a bid to capture some elusive publicity - and the publication of this item proves that it has worked.

Following the recent sinking of another tanker off the coast of France, the Committee rushed out a press release headlined “Ievoli Sun disaster - the Committee of the Regions had earlier called for stricter measures”. This is known as the 'I told you so' tactic, or 'harrumphing with hindsight'.
