Date: 09/11/00 Reassuring words last week from top US telecoms official Susan Ness, who was in the Belgian capital for what was billed as a “very informal” chat with the EU about telecoms policy. It was followed by a very informal press conference organised by the US mission, at which Ness came under pressure from scribes determined to find a story somewhere. “In what way is the world a different one from the way it was yesterday?” asked one. “Well, err, it's the same,” confirmed Ness. |
