...according to a new report by the Union's statistics office Eurostat. It shows that unemployment fell in 153 out of the 205 regions covered and rose in only 44 between April 1998 and April 1999. Jobless rates in April 1999 ranged from 2.1% in Åland, Finland, to 28.7% in Calabria, Italy.
