Fisheries ministers will meet tomorrow (17 November) to prepare for huge cuts in catches of North Sea cod next year

Ministers are expected to agree on deep reductions in annual quotas for cod at their annual meeting in December after fisheries experts in Denmark warned that stocks were at disastrously low levels because of overfishing. The industry is expected to argue that huge quota cuts would drive them out of business.
