Spanish PM backs Sarkozy on Tobin tax

Report of discussions between Spain's new Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, and French President Sarkozy, Madrid, 16 January 2012.

Mr Rajoy explicitly backed a plan by President Sarkozy to introduce a controversial financial transactions tax, known as the 'Tobin tax', although conceding there were details to iron out so that the tax would not end up being paid by consumers.
