Press Release: Mergers: Commission clears drinks distribution joint venture between Scottish & Newcastle and Kuehne + Nagel

The European Commission on 29 June 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the formation of a joint venture for UK drinks distribution between the UK brewery group Scottish & Newcastle (‘S&N’) and Kuehne+Nagel Logistics Ltd (‘K+N’). The Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
