Shares in Endesa, Spain's largest electricity group, rose more than 4 per cent on 27 July 2006, amid signs that the country's energy regulator (CNE) was set to approve a €27bn ($34.3bn) takeover bid by Eon, with conditions that might be acceptable to the German company.
