Europeans could pay more for natural gas as the result of a deal between Russian and Algerian state-controlled gas groups, Italy has warned. Gazprom of Russia and Algeria's Sonatrach agreed in August 2006 in a memorandum of understanding to work together in the liquefied natural gas business and could consider joint bids for foreign assets. |
