Poland's prime minister-designate, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, attempted to reassure markets on 9 July 2006 by appointing a well regarded economist, Stanislaw Kluza, as the country's fourth finance minister in 10 months. This follows the surprise resignation of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz as prime minister late on 7 July.
