Blueprint sees Kosovo as ward of EU

The special UN envoy charged with negotiating the future status of the Serbian province of Kosovo, Martti Ahtisaari, submitted his compromise recommendations to the six-nation Contact Group in Vienna on 26 January 2007, with Nato peacekeepers braced for a backlash from ethnic Albanians demanding full independence.
