Yushchenko to scale down his EU ambitions for Ukraine

Faced with political gridlock at home, Viktor Yushchenko, Ukraine's pro-western president, was expected to row back on previous calls for speedy membership of the European Union in a speech given in Denmark, 15 March 2007.
