Press Release: Twelve inventors nominated for Europe’s top innovation prize

Twelve European inventors have been nominated for the second edition of the European Inventor of the Year Awards, which will be presented on 18 April 2007. Finalists for the award, instituted by the EU Commission and the European Patent Office (EPO), have been selected by an independent international jury. The nominations cover four categories: Industry, SMEs/Research, Inventors from Non-European Countries and Lifetime Achievement. One in each category will receive the European Inventor of the Year Award on 18 April 2007 from EU Commissioner Günter Verheugen and EPO President Alain Pompidou at a gala event in Munich.
