On 6 June 2001 the European Commission adopted a report on the progress made by Albania in preparation of the negotiation of a Stabilisation and Association Agreement. The report, which analyses the various political, economic and technical factors, concludes that it is appropriate to open negotiations for a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Albania.
