At a meeting of the Consumer Committee in Brussels on 21 September 2001, Franz Fischler, European Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, supported consumers' strong interest in the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). This meeting of the Consumer Committee is part of a series of initiatives launched by Commissioner Fischler and David Byrne, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, to debate the future of food policy and production with all those directly involved in what our society expects from the agricultural sector and from the food we eat. |
