Industry recoils from ‘suicide trap’

Chief executives of European companies are becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the damage that early retirement causes to European economies. European industry launched a public appeal for reform of the pension system in 2000 with a report from the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT), a big business lobby group. A follow-up to the original ERT report was published in November 2001.
