Press Release: Securities: results of consultation on transparency obligations of publicly traded companies

The European Commission published on the Internet on 19n December 2001 the results of a consultation, launched in July 2001, on its forthcoming proposal for a Directive to update existing Community rules on the information which has to be regularly provided by companies whose securities are traded on regulated markets. This is one of the first examples of the consultation process instigated as a result of the Stockholm European Council Resolution on European securities market regulation, based on the final report of the Committee of Wise Men chaired by Baron Alexandre Lamfalussy.
