Steelmakers in talks on how to reduce output

Officials from the world's biggest steel-producing countries attended a meeting in Paris on 17-18 December 2001 organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The purpose of the meeting was to explore options for dealing with excess capacity and resulting market distortions affecting the world steel industry.
