Reform of EU securities rules moves a step closer

On 22 January 2002 the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly to accept a report aimed at enabling the assembly to achieve common ground with the European Commission over democratic safeguards bo be applied to the secondary legislation envisaged under the Lamfalussy plan.
