The European Union will introduce tariff rate quotas on 3 April 2002 on 15 categories of steel product. The United States reacted by saying it would consider appealing to the World Trade Organisation. The EU is also considering a list of 316 American products that could be subject to retaliatory measures unless the American government agrees to compensate the EU for lost steel trade. |
