MEPs rap Britain’s handling of foot and mouth crisis

The European Parliament on 20 November 2002 criticised Britain's handling of the foot-and-mouth crisis in 2001 and demanded that emergency vaccination be the 'first choice option' in any outbreak. A report by MEPs said it was no longer acceptable to carry out the kind of mass culls seen in Britain.
