A special Eurobarometer (No. 58) on consumers' opinions of services of general interest, published on 28 January 2003, most European consumers are satisfied with the quality of essential services such as post, telecommunications, gas, electricity and water but are less satisfied with transport services and 40 % feel prices are still too high.
