At the World Trade Organisation on 18 August 2003, the European Union blocked a request by the United States, Canada and Argentina, for a WTO dispute panel ruling on their challenge to the EU's restrictions on imports of genetically modified crops. Under WTO rules, a panel must be established at the second time of asking, and this is likely to happen on 29 August 2003. |
