European machine tool output hit by economic fragility

Figures compiled by CECIMO, a Brussels-based trade body that represents machine tool makers in 15 European countries, reveal a sharp drop in Europe's production of machine tools in 2003. Industrial companies are cutting spending due to widespread economic fragility.
