An improvement in domestic demand, helped by the prospect of tax cuts in several countries, could help the eurozone economy grow by 1 per cent this year, according to an indicator prepared for the Financial Times and FT Deutschland in August 2003. The monthly indicator, compiled by a consortium of European economic research institutes, points to 1 per cent year-on-year growth in eurozone gross domestic product in the third quarter - well above the 0.6 per cent projected in July 2003. |
