The pensions crisis

People across Europe have lost confidence in saving for retirement following plunging stock markets. Most Member States are trying to reduce state pension spending to cut fiscal deficits. Editorial argues that the European Financial Services Round Table must play its part in resolving the pensions crisis. People need to be persuaded to save much more for retirement and they need suitable products that can be relied upon to pay out decades later.
