Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves joint control of Air China Cargo by Air China and Cathay Pacific

The European Commission cleared on 17 June 2010 under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition by Cathay Pacific Airways of a stake in Air China Cargo, currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air China. As a result the two companies will have joint control in the air cargo company. The Commission concluded that the acquisition would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
