Clash over collective damages approach

Consumers’ organisations, lawyers and judges are sharply divided over what kind of collective damages claims should be permitted under prospective European Union legislation when price-fixing has occurred. Article discusses submissions made by these groups to the European Commission's consultation on the subject following the launch in April 2008 of a White Paper on Damages Actions for Breach of the EC antitrust rules.
