German business index rise fails to ease recovery fears

Report of the latest German business climate index from the Ifo Institute, 25 October 2004. A surprise improvement in German business sentiment failed to dispel fears that rising oil prices and a stronger euro are hitting the eurozone's economic recovery even before it has fed into labour markets and consumer spending.
