RWE close to antitrust deal with Brussels

Article reports that the German energy utility company RWE is expected to reach a settlement with Europe's antitrust authorities that could see the German utility group hive off its 7,000km-long gas transmission network. Both RWE and the European Commission confirmed 28 May 2008 that talks on a deal were under way.
