Memo: Commission allocates EUR 7m for a ‘pilot project’ in the field of prevention, preparedness and response to terrorist attacks

Following the adoption in June 2004, of the Revised Action Plan on terrorism and, then, in October 2004, of a package of four Commission Communications on the Prevention , Preparedness and Response, the European Parliament proposed in December 2004 the creation of Budget article 'Pilot Project - Terrorism' to the tune of €7m. The European Commission on 21 September 2005 adopted a Financial Decision allocating €7m for the pilot-project. The Decision was part of a comprehensive Counter-terrorism package.
