France warms to more multilateral US foreign policy

A shift in US foreign policy to a more multilateral approach in the past year has given new impetus to France's co-operation on counter-terrorism strategy. French officials say they are 'very appreciative' of Washington's new approach. British and French officials on 1 August 2005 insisted that France had been fully co-operating with the US and UK on counter-terrorism since well before the London bombings in July 2005.
