Le Pen caught in new anti-Semitism row

The European Jewish Congress called on the European Union to remove Jean-Marie Le Pen’s parliamentary immunity after the former leader of the French National Front made remarks reviving long-standing allegations of anti-Semitism.

Further tension episodes followed in 2015, as Marine Le Pen prepared the ground as a candidate for the presidential election in 2017.
