EU Iegislation:
Protection of technical inventions (utility models). The Commission has adopted a proposal for a Directive approximating the legal arrangements for the protection of inventions by utility model. A utility model is a registered industrial property right which confers on its proprietor exclusive protection for a technical invention. It is more flexible and less expensive than a patent.
