Economic indicators:
Unemployment. EU seasonally adjusted unemployment was 10.6% at the end of November 1997. This compares to 10.7% as in the previous four months (following revisions to earlier data). Eurostat estimates that 17.9m were unemployed in the EU in November 1997.
