German and Austrian book publishers will make a last-ditch attempt next week to convince the Commission that the introduction of two national separate book- pricing schemes would not hamper competition

In a letter to Competition Commissioner Mario Monti, trade associations from both countries will once again argue their case for a new system under which publishers in each country would be able to set prices at home.
