The authors are Jan Johansson et al. A new form of qualified vocational education (QVE) was introduced as a pilot project in Sweden. QVE is a new form of post-secondary education, long requested by industry. In QVE, one-third of instructional time is advanced application of theoretical knowledge at a workplace. This article reports on the evaluation of the pilot project and suggests that QVE has been successful. It goes on to discuss four options for continuing QVE in Sweden - but the choice belongs to the political process. |
