The European Commission on 1 December 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the shipping company Delmas by the global French shipping company CMA CGM. The Commission considered that although both companies were active on some routes between Africa and Europe, the increased market share would not be sufficient to significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any part of it. |
