The European Commission on 24 January 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed €3.1 billion acquisition of US based Reebok International Ltd ('Reebok') by adidas-Salomon AG ('adidas') of Germany. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the EEA or any substantial part of it.
