Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of SNCM by Veolia Transport and Butler Capital Partners

The European Commission on 30 May 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of joint control of SNCM by the Veolia Transport group and the investment fund management company Butler Capital Partners, all three of which were French-owned. After investigating the operation, the Commission concluded that it would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
