Entente cordiale as Sarkozy lavishes praise on rival Chirac

Analysts say the President Chirac and Nicolas Sarkozy, regarded as political rivals, have decided to bury the hatchet temporarily to prevent in-fighting between their two camps ruining what is expected to be Mr Chirac's last year in office and damaging Mr Sarkozy's chances of replacing him in next year's elections.
