Press Release: EU-ASEAN: increasing engagement with South East Asia

EU Ministers will meet their ASEAN counterparts on 14 March 2007 in Nuremberg to endorse a Vision Statement on an Enhanced EU-ASEAN Partnership, laying the basis for closer political relations and co-operation in future. At the meeting the EU will express its commitment to support South East Asian in developing its own forms of regional integration. This biennial EU-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting will be attended by representatives from all EU Member states as well as the 10 ASEAN countries: Brunei, Burma/Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
