Police in European Union countries will be able to access DNA, fingerprint and car registration databases run by other member states under an agreement reached at a Justice and Home Affairs Council, Brussels, 15 February 2007. The Council agreed on the integration into the EU legal framework of the parts of the PrĂ¼m Treaty relating to police and judicial cooperation in criminal matters (Title VI of the EU Treaty, the so called 'third pillar'), with the exception of the provision relating to cross-border police intervention in the event of imminent danger (Article 18). |
