European Competition Commissioner Mario Monti and Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai signed on 6 May 2004 an agreement on a structured dialogue on competition between the European Union and China. This is the first such competition dialogue initiated by China with a third country and it will help foster the interests of both European and Chinese companies when doing business in each other's territory. The signature took place during a visit by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to the Commission at the invitation of European Commission President Romano Prodi |
