Schröder’s point

Editorial considers the proposal by German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder for a high level review of NATO's role in the transatlantic relationship. Although Mr Schröder's proposal, delivered at the 41st Munich Conference on Security Policy, 11-13 February 2005, was not well received, this editorial argues that it is time for a deep debate on NATO and Atlantic ties.
