The Minerva action, named after the Roman goddess of wisdom, aims to promote European cooperation in the use of information and communication technologies in education. It is part of the EU’s wide-ranging education and training programme, Socrates. The European Commission on 26 October 2005 announced that it had earmarked €6 million to support 27 new European co-operation projects starting in 2005. The projects were to run between two and three years and would help ensure that new teaching technologies are exploited more effectively in a wide range of subjects, including languages, business studies and mathematics. |
