Date: 02/07/1998 Not content with acting as midwife at the rather troubled birth of the euro and presiding over the EU for the past six months, it seems UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is also a rather good travel agent. The British premier was recently awarded the Azahar prize by the Cordoba press club. For the uninitiated among you, Cordoba is where Tony and family like to spend their holidays when in Spain. Blair was awarded the prize “for his simplicity and friendliness, for the personal charm he showed towards Cordoba and the people of Cordoba, for opening up his soul to this millenarian city and telling his British friends about it with pride”. |
