Insurers welcome EU solvency deal / Insurance body cautious on solvency deal

Insurers cautiously welcomed a deal between the two largest Political Groups in the European Parliament on the 15 March 2012 that helped allay the industry’s fears about capital requirements that a regulatory shake-up would bring.

The European Parliament would vote on its formal position imminently, before entering negotiation with EU Member States and the European Commission to reach joint agreement.
